::Structural Censorship. Federal subsidy for Public Netbase t0 slashed by 50 %.

Following a delay of several months and a painstaking auditing procedure, a drastic reduction the public subsidy of Public Netbase t0 for the years 2000 and 2001 was announced in early March. This act of structural censorshop once again betrayed the government's intention to eliminate critical currents.

State Secretary Franz Morak's justification, according to which the media art advisory board's assessment of Public Netbase /t0's work was rather poor, proved to be totally unfounded.

Contrary to the distorting messages from the State Secretariat for Art, all of the statements released by the Advisory Board for Art and the Media express a positive evaluation of the artistic importance of Public Netbase/t0.
